Perlite Insulation Plaster

Perlite is an insulating material, naturally occurring silica-based volcanic rock.

After pre-drying up to 400 degrees in the expansion plants, by evaporating the water in the temperatures up to 700-1200 degrees, it explodes like a corn and expands up to 20 times its old volume.

The expanded perlite in Turkey and countries of the world is used in many areas such as agriculture (greenhouse), food (sugar production, juice purification, food filter), textiles (jeans production), construction.

It gives long lasting and healthy application results due to its naturalness. Unlike synthetic products, Perlite has breathability.

Advantages of Perlite

Thermal insulation

  • Keeps the temperature up to 600 degrees, 2 cm behind the mold.
  •  It is used as a coating in furnaces and lava chambers with 300-degree heat.
  • It is used for thermal insulation in poultry farms, it reduces the fuel used to protect the heat inside and minimizes the chick loss.

Fire Resistance

  • Perlite does not burn. It has the A-1 certificate of fireproof and fire resistance.

Vapor Diffusion & Breathing

  • Perlite breathes.
  • It allows the moisture inside to go out and extends the life of the building. (Vapor diffusion = thanks to water vapor permeability)
  • Gypsum and foam coating (synthetic products) moisture occurs inside the buildings. Since the hot / cold air inside or outside the building is heavier than normal air, it cannot pass through the perlite, isolation is provided.

Ease of Application & Time Saving

  • After application, the lower layer of perlite (depending on weather conditions) dries in 1 day in summer, 2 days in winter, then decorative application is applied on it.
  • For a 2-storey building, all applications include lower coat protection plaster and upper coat decorative plaster; With XPS the application takes 10 days. With perlite ends in 4 days.

Energy-saving

  • Reduces the energy used to maintain the internal heat by 50% (Document studies are in progress with the Technical University).

Reduction of Building Loads & Earthquake Resistance

  • Because it is lighter than alternative products, it reduces total building load and increases earthquake resistance. (Document studies are in progress with the technical university).

Compliance with Environment and Human Health

  • Since perlite is a natural material, it is not harmful to environment and human health compare to alternative other products.

Economic Savings in Total Project

  • When all these advantages are combined, it provides significant financial savings in the total project.
